Well, there have been no City Hall meetings to speak of in this election week but on the big night itself shortly after 10 p.m. I did cycle over to City Hall’s great white elephant of an anteroom, Centennial Hall, to watch the election winners and their supporters drift in for a little hullabaloo.

“Councillor Roger Caranci is right. This Council is always banging their gums together about increasing transparency and accessibility. And here was a great opportunity to do just that and what do they do? They schedule some of the City’s most important financial business for a time of day when nobody who actually works for a living can attend.”

This meeting only took 35 minutes until media and the public were sent from the room so that Committee members could go in camera to consider confidential matters.  The second item on the agenda was the Sarnia Road Bridge Replacement Review and discussion about that dominated the meeting.
