Does It Get any Wackier Than This?

When council set its sights on forcing Londoners to package their biodegradable waste so we could dump it into a giant community composter, we were all told it was for the benefit of the environment. Now, a few months later, we are informed the nearest processing centre is more than two hours away, in scenic Arthur, Ontario. Hardly makes sense to have pollution-spewing trucks lugging our garbage to the rural north in the name of preserving the environment. But that’s not the wacky part. What is really over the top is that there were still voices at city hall raised in support of the idea, diesel fumes and all. Never mind the environment, we’re saving the environment!
